Insurance

We have one of the largest dedicated Insurance teams in the UK, spread across our 6 offices helping insurers, loss adjusters, corporate clients, local authorities and police forces. All benefit from our depth and breadth of experience and access to our full range of services.

Commercial Advantage

We have developed long-standing relationships and act for some of the UK's largest insurers and claims organisations, including Admiral, Ageas, Aviva, Brit Insurance,Chubb, Groupama, MIB, QBE, RSA and Travelers to name a few.

As part of a firm with a big corporate and commercial services element, we can draw on extra skills and industry insights whenever you need them.

Top of the ladder

Consistently ranked in the top tier by The Legal 500, we’re experienced in insurance claims of every kind. DWF has been involved in several of the most high profile and unusual claims of recent years.

Bursting with expertise

DWF offers substantial teams providing pre and post-litigation services to insurers, the self-insured, loss adjusters and corporate clients, and many more.

Our core practice areas include:

  • Catastrophic injury
  • Construction and engineering
  • Environmental and pollution
  • EL claims
  • Fraud
  • Motor
  • Occupational Health
  • Professional indemnity
  • PL claims
  • Products liability
  • Property and recoveries
  • Regulatory (Trading Standards, HSE, and others)

Responding to the industry's issues

Major legislative developments can cause insurers big problems if they’re not on the ball. So it’s vital to get advice from professionals who have a thorough understanding of legislative changes and their potential impact.

Luckily, DWF’s Insurance teams have a keen eye on such changes, and can help you navigate the territories they open up. For example, the DWF International Claims Team was formed as a response to a direct need from insurers for clear and comprehensive legal advice in the enormously complex area of international claims. The Rome II legislation, for example, has overturned many previous laws. The Fifth Motor Insurance Directive also has important ramifications, yet is widely misunderstood by many.

Our International Claims Team covers a wide range of legal services including personal injury, product liability, travel claims, regulatory issues, health and safety disputes and coverage issues and has unrivalled specialist experience advising on cross-border claims. We also provide pragmatic, practical advice that minimises insurers’ exposure.
